Sump pump keeps pumping out water, then one or two short bursts
It’s been raining a lot here and my sump pump has been pumping more than usual lately, however I noticed now when it pumps anything out, it runs for a bit, then stops, but then runs again in one or two very short bursts. Then it stops completely, and then a few minutes later it does the same thing.
I get its normal to run a lot especially when we’ve gotten rain or something, but what are these bursts of activity? It’s immediately after a normal pump, and lasts only half a second before shutting off again.
I think it’s short cycling, but I could be mistaken. I have no clue what it is.
Any advice would be appreciated!
