Texsens Cat Backpack Review: How My Cat Actually Reacted

I always thought those cat backpacks were just for photos and not something people actually use… but I ended up getting one anyway because I felt bad leaving my cat home all the time when I go out.

Not gonna lie, first time I opened it I was like okay… this might actually work.

It’s not as flimsy as I thought. Like it actually holds its shape when you carry it, and the straps don’t feel cheap or anything. I was expecting it to feel like one of those things you regret immediately but it didn’t.

My cat though… completely different story 😭

First attempt was a disaster. She looked at it like I betrayed her. I tried putting her in and yeah, that was not happening. What worked better was just leaving it open in the room for a few days. I put a blanket inside and let her do her own thing.

Eventually she started going in on her own, which surprised me. Still didn’t mean she loved it, but at least she stopped acting like it was a trap.

Once I actually took her outside in it, she calmed down pretty fast. She just sat there and stared out the front like she was judging everyone passing by. The bubble part is kinda funny because people can see them clearly, so you get a lot of looks.

Also something I didn’t think about… you will get stopped.
Like people asking questions, pointing, wanting to look inside. It’s not lowkey at all.

Inside space is okay. Not huge, but not tight either. My cat can turn around and settle, which is enough for short trips. I wouldn’t use it for super long hours though.

Ventilation was better than I expected too. There are holes and mesh on the sides, so it doesn’t feel stuffy. I was worried about that at first.

Random thing but the side holes basically became a game. I’d poke my finger through and she’d try to catch it like it’s the most important mission of her life.

Things I learned the hard way:

• don’t force them into it, it just makes everything worse
• give them time to get used to it at home first
• if your cat is on the bigger side, check the size before buying

Overall… I wouldn’t say my cat loves it, but she tolerates it enough that I can actually bring her out now without it turning into chaos. That alone made it worth trying for me.
