Weening and starting antidepressants
Has anyone here started an antidepressants while weening from 7oh? I have a script to pickup. My dr doesnt know about the 7oh. Simply because it was my first time meeting him. In the new patient pamphlet it stated that they do not have any dealings with pain management or opioid addictions. It also stated that I could be denied as a patient if I was addicted to schedule substance. So I didnt mention it. He prescribed Prozac . 20 mg. I heard mixed reviews on mixing 7oh with SSRI's.. so my goal is to slowly ween off 7ohs. Im currently taking around 300mg daily. I tried to reduce slightly every week. And by reduce i mean cut out 30mg daily. I havent started the Prozac. I want to because I feel like it will help the mental side affects of withdraw. I just dont want to cause myself harm by taking both. Im scared to death because I have a 2 year old son that needs me. My mom died from an accidental OD when I was nine. Prozac being one of the medications she was prescribed. So do any you have experience with starting an SSRI while taking 7oh? Did it help with the mental toll withdraws cause? Was it worse? Also would starting sub being any help? I've been on 7oh for about 16 months but I was on kratom for 3 years before I got pregnant. Then before that i took any and every opioid, didnt matter as long as i felt something. So ive struggled with this for a long time. Consistently tho for 16 months and im looking to quit in way that doesnt completely throw me out of commission. Ive quit multiple things CT in the past. I just never knew that what I experienced was withdraws. I just though it was the flu or a manic depression episode. So I know I can do it. It was until I figured out that my symptoms were WD that i actually had a hige issue going through it. It truly is a mental thing more so than physically. Thats why i thought starting the antidepressants would help beautifully with quitting. Now that i think about mixing it tho i dont know if thats the right thing to do. Any answers, suggestions, and experiences welcomed!
