I was fooled by Amanda, and I'm slowly becoming a Kyle apologist
I have always liked Amanda on the show, sometimes I felt like she was a little whiny which could be annoying, but other than that I was a fan. I loved her friendship with the girls, liked how she seemed chill and I thought she seemed like a kind nurturing person, and I'll give credit where credit is due - she was very sweet to Kyle most of the time and did put up with more than she deserved.
I didn't believe the rumors had any truth at first, Monday night I started considering it could be true because of the flood of posts coming out but wasn't fully convinced until they finally released a statement confirming.
I take most of the Bravo rumors with a grain of salt in general, but I dismissed immediately because I just thought... Amanda would not do that. First, I know most fans don't like Kyle, but even though she requested a divorce and I'm sure had built up resentment, I do believe that she loved him and wouldn't want to cause him hurt in that kind nature.
Second, I didn't think ever in a million years would she do that to Ciara. I thought she was such a ride or die for her friends and would NEVER.
I was so sad and mad for Ciara and Kyle when it was confirmed... (Unpopular opinion on the Kyle part, I know.)
This news has me activated, and I am realizing all the things that make Amanda suck and that she mainly always been a leech and rode off everyone else's coat tails.
Say what you will about Paige, I am a fan, but even if I weren't I don't know how I would deny she is a girls girl. Some people use the argument from her falling out with Hannah in season 5, which is weak in my opinion. They had an argument, as many girls do, and they made up very soon after and they were on great terms before the reunion for that season even aired, even though most of the cast was still on the outs with her. They have also maintained their friendship for over five years even after Hannah was fired.
Same for Ciara. Paige and Ciara will go head-to-head with whoever they need to defend their friends. If someone wrongs their friend, they just earned a new enemy. They think their friends are the absolute total package, and they say it often, and remind them of their worth when they need it.
Even if you say they don't treat ALL girls that way, at the very least you have to admit that they are top tier friends.

Amanda got labeled as a "true girls girl" "ride or die friend", etc., because of her close friendship with Paige and Ciara. Looking back though, we have never really seen her match the same energy of those two. It's always been them hyping her up, them defending her, them supporting her. Amanda benefitted not only from their friendship they offered her, but she was kind of just lumped in as a good friend because they are. Amanda is one of those girls who is like a chameleon, she doesn't have a personality or character of her own, so mirrors whoever she is close with at the time and tries to copy their behavior.
This is going to get me a lot of hate, I'm prepared for it - but you know what, Kyle wasn't the only problem.
I didn't always feel like this, but when someone shows their true colors you realize that there were always signs that they moved in a shady way and are always out for themselves.
She loved playing victim to Kyle but let's face it, she was benefitting more than he was.
- She would not be on the show if it weren't for Kyle. Even if by the off chance she were to have gotten cast, she would have been a 1 season wonder. Because Amanda = Not fun.
- Yes, she had a job, but she started working for Loverboy, fine. Many of the complaints Kyle has had over the years was kind of her lack of ambition. Not only around the house, but also for Loverboy. It's not hard to believe that she has poor work ethic.
- Kyle is kind of like the main cast member of the show and group. He was part of starting the show, yes, but that's just kind of the dynamic as well. He has a big personality, and he forms relationships with people easily. Amanda liked being married to the "star" (I feel cheesy saying star but I don't know how else to say it.) It kept her relevant, kept her on the show and gave her a certain status.
My biggest AHA moment, was the prenup.
Kyle wanted a prenup, and Amanda did not. It was a big point of contention, but Amanda was adamant, and ultimately, they did not end up with one.
He said that in the event that the company tanked, this would protect her as well as making things simpler for potential investors. We don't know his true intentions and thoughts, it's possible he had selfish motives as well.
She said she didn't want one because she associates it with divorce.
Important to note that at the time these discussions were being had, the future of Loverboy was looking very bright. They had a MASSIVE spike in revenue/sales and it was actually their most profitable year.
Things have obviously taken a turn, and the company is possibly facing bankruptcy and has I think like a 4million dollar loan. (The loan was through the company, but more than likely Kyle had to sign a personal guarantee which holds him liable, if I understand correctly).
So now, Loverboy isn't really worth anything and even worse, debt and liability.
I don't know the facts, but the conversation being had from Amanda is that she is screwed because they didn't sign a prenup so even if they divorce she will still be tied to and attached to the debt.
Okay, so here's what I'm getting out of this:
-Loverboy making money = she doesn't want a prenup, marriage is sacred (eyeroll) - prenup is not a benefit to her in this scenario
-Loverboy now not making money and in debt = regrets not having a prenup, she is such a victim to Kyle's poor business choices.
BABE... THIS WAS 100% YOUR CALL. I'll say again, he could have had ulterior motives for wanting a prenup, we don't know..... but HE TOLD HER A PRENUP WOULD PROTECT HER FROM EXACTLY THIS.
I mean, she can blame Kyle for a lot of things, I don't know what mental gymnastics you would have to do on this specific situation though to put this on him.
On the topic of splitting finances, people I'm sure will say that she put herself at risk too by not having Kyle sign a prenup because she comes from wealth. Nope. Her assets are in a family trust, meaning in the event of separation her assets are protected and not considered marital property.
I'm not against family trusts. I say protect yourself, the person you marry isn't the same person you divorce so be wise. I just find it interesting that at the time of not wanting one, Loverboy was doing great, she had no exposure because of the trust, but now, she's a victim.
I hope Loverboy tanks, she's straddled with half the debt, Kyle starts a new company and thrives. And I hope he makes Ciara the face of it.
Now that brands won't partner with Amanda on her swimwear line, I would say maybe she will just start her own, but she's too lazy so lol.
