seeking advice for opening up to va on childhood trauma
coming from my wife- long story short, i went through severe religious gay conversion therapy. i am dealing with the aftermath of it in adulthood. i fear the rapture, demons, and going to hell. i am in therapy outside of the VA and receiving medication for bipolar 1 disorder, i went through things while in the navy as well so it all piled up on me. i have mentioned my religious conversion therapy in the past to other different psychiatrists, but have not been forthcoming to my current one due to the fear of getting my disability taken away and the fact that im in therapy currently (outside of the va) dealing with it. i just am wondering if its something i should disclose to my current psychiatrist because im starting new medication. or should i keep it to myself? no hate please. the va is how i survive and i did deal with a lot of mental health issues from the navy.
