Is it worth the money to buy an e-bike to do Uber Eats downtown ?

Question

Considering paying ~$2000on a quality e-bike (I really like what I’m seeing from Aventon) for the purposes of getting around a lot faster without using transit when there is no snow and also to do food delivering (mainly this).

But I’m wondering is this worth the investment especially for Hamilton? I was wondering how fast this would actually pay itself off and allow me to have some more money on the side for just groceries.

I like the fact that you can do it whenever you’re free compared to a traditional job. In terms of where the money I’m using is coming from I was going to use the $600 I’m getting paid in a few days from my freelancing and then the $1400 I’m getting later down the line. Anything else I need to pay I’ll comp it with my savings.

Please let me know if I’m being stupid. Downtown as in around Jackson square area.
