Custom Board Smell

I ordered a custom binho board and rocky from the start but was so excited to receive it finally.

Then I opened it… the chemical smell is overwhelming.

Is this normal? Anyone with ideas to help mitigate it? Do the regular boards have this smell?

I could smell it 2 hours later in the room I opened it in after promptly putting it back in the box. I tried letting it air out for a few hours the next day and didn’t help at all. Even the accessories I purchased smell like it from being in the box during shipping.

Also the colors I chose ended up faded and off color. Afraid to rinse/wash the board as I feel like the colors will get worse.

Sad about all of it but hoping I can at least figure out the smell considering how expensive it was. Would love some advice!
