Costume Drama Without Intrigue?

Pursuit of Jade was my first costume drama and while I enjoyed it, I really had no idea what was going on half the time as far as the families and the politics😂 Is there a costume drama that is more centered on every day lives? I have no interest in fantasy (just the description of some of them is beyond my comprehension), and mostly just watch modern (First Frost being my favorite if that helps).
