Coming on the 10th & I have some specific questions about PV!

My husband and I are visiting for the first time next week and I’m curious about a few things.

1. What is the deal about drinking alcohol on the beach? I live in Toronto and here it’s technically illegal to drink on the beach or in parks but everyone does it and as long as you’re not doing something stupid the police leave you alone. I know there are a ton of restaurants and beach clubs along the beach to get drinks but what about if we wanted to bring some beers or alcohol to the beach and do our own thing? Do you have to conceal it in a water bottle/tumbler?

2. What is the homeless/drug user situation like down there (especially in like the more touristy spots)? I’m super used to encountering like 10-20 people tweaking out every day but you get used to their behaviours and know what to expect. Curious if there’s anything in that regard to be cautious about.

3. Do you have to pay to use public washrooms? I’ve noticed on Google Maps when I’ve been poking around there are some spots listing “baños” around. We don’t have many public washrooms here and some you have to pay to use. Also are they typically in okay condition or should I avoid?

4. We are not staying on an AI, but want to get a resort day pass for one day and wondering if there are any resorts that are recommended. I was looking at the Hyatt Ziva, but am open to other options maybe closer to all the action.

5. lol this is definitely very specific but I keep seeing TikTok’s and recommendations about Mr.Flamingos to go dancing, and it looks really fun. Since we’re a hetero couple I don’t wanna go take up space if LGBT+ would prefer us not going.
