Magic/Witchy Female Characters

Hi all! I noticed something in my most recent re-watch and wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it. If this has already been discussed, I apologize.

All the main female characters (Yuna, Svetlana, Rose), are referenced as having magical powers at some point in the show. Specifically:

-Sasha references Svetlana as being psychic when they are discussing hockey in the bathroom in Russia

-David calls Yuna a witch when she predicts that the Admirals are going to win the cup. She even responds with “shut up or I’ll cast a spell on you” as a joking retort

-Rose is cast as a shape-shifter in the X-Squad movie

There is no way this is all a coincidence. What do you think Jacob is saying with this kind of detail? I wonder if it’s a commentary on how pivotal all the women are in facilitating the relationship between Ilya and Shane. Would love to hear people’s thoughts on this!
