Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Looking for some feedback on my last long run. My last long run was this past Saturday. I’ve been self trained and prescribing my own program leading into my first marathon. For my last run I wanted to push myself and simulate a near race day experience. I would rate the run as an 8 of 10 in terms of difficulty. I think have the cardio capacity but my body was starting to hurt around mile 16-18. I’m 4 weeks out and have a planned 22-miler at easy pace 2 weeks out.

My fueling has been about 60g of carbs and about 250ml of water per hour. I think I should up those numbers but I absolutely hate running with a vest and hate the idea of run with anything more than one soft flask. For race day I was thinking of having 200g of honey mixed with sodium, magnesium, and potassium in a 250ml soft flask. Realistically I think I might need to resort to my 500ml soft flask and mix that concoction with water but I’m here to receive feedback.

More details about me:

Height: 5”7 / 170cm
Weight: 170-175lbs / 77-79kg

1st Half marathon 5/4/2025: 2:07:36
2nd half marathon 10/5/2025: 1:58:03
3rd half marathon 2/2/206: 1:51:38

I feel pretty confident that I’ll be able to hit my goal of sub 4. Am I realistic? Should I have a stretch goal?

Thank you everyone in advance!
