How do I (25f) ensure I'm moving slowly in new "relationship" (28f)?
Okay this may seem dumb but I'm truly just looking for grounded advice. I got out of a 5 year relationship about 6 months ago and I've started dating about 3 months ago. I met this woman recently who is probably the closest I've gotten to really liking someone. We've only been on two dates and been talking for about a month. She seems very mature , intentional , and sweet. I know I like her and I want to get to know her more.
Yesterday, she sends me a long message essentially saying that she can see my romantic interests and wants to take things slow and step back to build a friendship first. I totally get it! And honestly it's refreshing. I feel like I've grown a lot from my past relationship and I do want to do more intentional dating.
My question is how can I make sure that I'm moving slowly but still moving forward? I want to flirt and go on dates but I'm also worried about making her feel rushed or doing too much. Should I even call them dates? And then a very deep insecure part of me is contemplating if she even likes me at all. But she seems really honest and I feel like she would just lmk she's not interested rather than focus on building a friendship. I guess it also made me realize I've never done the friendship first thing so I just want to make sure I'm doing it right.
