Kitchen remodel - what upgrades are useful for EDS?
We are in the beginning stages of planning a kitchen remodeling project in our home. I’m in my early 40’s and we plan to be in our home for at least the next 20-25 years so as we plan, I am trying to think of what is useful to incorporate in the remodel to help with accessibility. Right now I only use a cane from time to time and have the typical (ha!) hEDS joint pains but I have been on a worsening trajectory over the past few years. I would like to set myself up for success as we complete this renovation as much as possible.
I know that the microwave will need to come down from above the range to a more comfortable height, handles instead of knobs on the cabinets, and I’m thinking of drawers instead of cabinets for the lowers so that I don’t have to climb under to get things.
Any other suggestions of items that are useful in your kitchens or wishlist items you’d like to have in your kitchens?
