Viltrumite "hand blade" use

After Marks fight with Conquest i was first thinking about how conquest straight up punched the spine out of marks back, but then i thought about the fact that viltrumites use of the "hand blade" is not overly common. Now i understand that if they all went around stabbing each other that wouldn't exactly be good writing or fun storytelling, but could there be a canon reason why viltrumites dont primairly fight by chopping/stabbing their opponent with their hand turned into a spear basically.
