Is it healthier for your nails to get a BIAB refill instead of a new overlay?

Discussion/Question

I recently got BIAB done for the first time, on my natural nails. Now, three weeks later, it’s time to either get them done again, or just remove them. The place I went to charges $90 (CAD) for a new overlay, and $80 for refills. The difference in price is not very big, so I’m guessing there must be a reason why you’d want to pay almost the same price for a refill vs getting a new overlay. Is the refill better for your nails, since you’re not removing all the layers? Are the results as good as if it were the original overlay? I don’t get my nails done in a salon that often, mainly because of the price. I’m considering getting them done again, since I really liked the results, but not sure if a refill or a new overlay is the better option.
