How hard is it to switch jobs internally?

I work in Tax (BORING) and I saw a job up in consulting that I have no experience in but I’ve been working on a few certifications and would rather work in that position. I’m looking to shift my career because Ive chosen a path I dont feel passionate about. Would it look bad if I applied to that job? Dont want my team being upset…
