why is this game so beyond grindy?

it's so conflicting cause at the same time this game is easiest in terms of leveling up mons/changing moves/shiny hunting but i just want the damn flower pokemon but having to do the ZA royale 15 times is such a grind my god, then i just got the DLC and just got passed darkrai and my god the grind to get the rest of the legendaries is insane? it's putting me off the game which sucks
