Is it a good idea to apply for green card in order for parent to visit if their B2 visa got rejected

I’m a long time US citizen, my mom, my husband and baby all US citizens. My dad however has no interest in ever living in the US. I’m currently pregnant with 2nd and it will be pretty difficult for us to travel to see my dad very often with 2 young kids. My dad would like to come visit us and meet grandkids, he is retired and has more than enough money to visit. His B2 application just got rejected for 214b, despite having one before with a perfect travel history. Based on my research, the chance that they will ever give him a b2 visa seems very slim. I’m willing to spend the time and money to try to petition for a green card, but I know for a fact that he will not be willing to stay here long term. At most I might be able to get him to do a couple of month long visits a year. Is it a very bad idea? How fast would his green card get revoked? Is there any other option that will allow him to visit us?
