Civ VII on sale on Xbox… should I?

I’ve played Civ games for more decades than I dare admit. (Previously always on PC).

I’ve been eyeing the possibility of Civ VII for my Xbox series X for a while, and always ultimately decided against. (Control issues).

But it’s on sale right now and I am tempted. Is it worth pulling the trigger yet, or does it still need more time in the oven?

(Ps looking for specific feedback on the console experience, rather than the state of the game as a whole).
