How successful have your talks with partners or potential partners been?
I made it (F) 26 years on this planet without testing positive for anything, but on a routine pap smear this spring, my results came up positive for HPV and Hsv-1.
I'm not taking it well, I'm struggling with shame and guilt.
I did my due diligence, I practiced safe sex with partners, I got tested before and after every partner as well.
I feel so defeated, that I'll at least have to deal with Hsv-1 for the rest of my life, even if it is mild.
I recently started dating someone, and things are heating up. I'm hopeful for this being a long term thing, but who really ever knows? I recently, as in the last week, found out I have HPV and hsv and am awaiting more screening to find out how serious they are.
I'm a very straightforward person, so not telling him or other future partners is not an option. I'm really nervous to tell him, but ultimately I get if he doesn't want to continue the connection.
I guess I'm just asking how well your talks with partners/potential partners have gone? Like percentage wise, what percent has taken it well/not well.
