First Elexteic Guitar Recs

I wanna get an electric guitar one day. I have something in mind already and I'm thinking of getting the Epiphone Slash AFD. I want the most versatile-sounding guitar. The songs I normally practice are from Catfish and The Bottlemen. By next year I'd have a budget of up to £1k. However, if there's a cheaper option and performs just as well as an expensive choice, then I'll get that. Which electric guitars would you guys recommend? What factors should I consider when buying apart from the feel which involves weight? Thank you in advance.
