How to add bash in Zed Editor?
Editor Source: [https://zed.dev/\]
-
Main Issue Description:
The editor will adjust to PowerShell as default when used. Some of us are more comfortable with bash and must change the terminal type.
-
Steps:
- Go to settings
-
-
2. Find Terminal Settings section

-
3. Check the green boxes where necessary settings are marked in the given image. You have to add a terminal title [default: bash], then you have to add the [path of sh.exe | actual shell]
**[For Beginners: sh.exe can easily be found inside bin folder. Look at the path of the given image.]
This process only works if you installed Git-Bash with its default installation path. If you have a custom path, [find the sh.exe and add the correct path]

4. [1-2-3] Steps should be enough to add bash in Zed. I like Zed because it is made of Rust and free. You should support them if you can anyhow. For experienced users, JSON config editing would be good enough to fully configure bash for Zed. Given process is just a simpler implementation.
