Hello Dearies, I'm Aunt Able, and Youtube isn't training.

DISCLAIMER: I am not your doctor, this isn't medical advice, use your best judgement. I ain't responsible for you doing dumb shit.

Firstly, I'd like to reiterate on something said in previous posts. Bystander effect. If someone is injured, and everyone is waiting around for someone to do something, it is YOUR job to step in. Point at a SPECIFIC person and tell them to call for help/911. Make it THEIR job. Then proceed until help arrives.

1. There's only so much that you can do by looking at posts, Dearies, did you know that you can take Red Cross classes, sometimes for free? Stop The Bleed is a course that teaches you the basics of bleeding control, and will let you get hands on experience. Don't be the only one who knows what to do, show your family and loved ones what you learn from this experience! Even better, take them with you! You should also practice these skills while not in class, so you know what to do in an actual emergency.
2. When faced with a bleeding person, the most basic thing you can do to help them is to apply and KEEP direct, firm pressure on the source of the bleeding. I will not get into tourniquets, chest seals, or other advanced techniques in this post, but you can and should learn about them and how they work. Again, take classes.
3. If someone is unconscious Dearies, make sure they can breath. The recovery position and the chin tilt are two common methods to ensure that the airway is clear.
4. I'm gonna keep saying this and you better listen Dearies. Take. Courses. Stop the Bleed, Wilderness First Aid, or even EMT courses and beyond. Take the highest and as much as you can.
5. While improvising medical solutions can work, DO NOT rely on that. Have a professional dedicated Trauma kit to deal with serious injuries. Yes, it may be expensive. Yes, it is worth it.

Stay safe, Dearies, and remember that first aid is a great skill to have. Until next time!
