**TLDR:** My boy Óliver is probably going to leave me for the money (and the Premier League).

Óliver came through the youth ranks in my first year at Hercules.

All the way down in Segunda Federación - Grupo III he made his debut. He slowly played his way in to the team.

We promoted to the next division, and I decided it would be better for him to play another year on a lower level. He didn't play well and didn't score, so I decided to get him back to his beloved Alicante.

We failed to grab back to back promotions, so we had to stay another year in Primera Federación - Grupo II (one division higher than where we started). That was a good situation for him: I couldn't afford better strikers, and he could play 32 matches and score 15 goals.

Since then he slowly started to score and develop like crazy.

The rest of his generation is not really impressive, still loaned out to other teams or helping out the B-squad. But he is kicking ass now in La Liga 2.

And now, I'm afraid I'm going to lose my boy. :( He has a clause of 10 million in his contract, since you are obliged to put one in as a Spanish rule.

Clubs like Southampton (Premier League) and Girona (in our competion, but they have Man City money) are showing an interest. And now for the very first time in his life, he doesn't want to talk to me about a new contract.

Maybe I should have given him more than 50k a year. Maybe I should have put in a higher clause.

Or maybe, just maybe, you sometimes have to let go someone you love. Not because it's easy, but because it might be for the best.

~~^(im low key contemplating not letting him play anymore till after the winter transfer window to keep him longer.)~~

Every save I try to have one or two youth prospects that I keep in the team. This time it would have been him. But now I have to look for another one to give all my attention to, probably.

Will update you guys on his decision this winter.

I'm afraid of losing my sweet prince this winter :(
