job advice?
This isn't really 100% related to being autistic but I'm afraid to ask in other Reddits cause I feel like I often misunderstand things and then get people being rude to me.
I posted in here a week ago about a job interview I had for an animal shelter near me. I interviewed Thursday and then they had me come in the same day to tour the facility. I thought it went really well, it was a pretty casual interview and everyone I met at the shelter was very nice. I was feeling good about the fact the interviewer wanted me to go in to tour the shelter, I felt that was a good sign. It also sounded like they really needed to hire somebody, so I was feeling decently confident. The interviewer gave me her phone number in case I needed anything, so I decided to shoot her a quick message after the tour to thank her for meeting with me and to tell her the tour went well, and then said I was looking forward to hearing back from her. She didn't answer me but I didn't take it personally, I didn't feel like what I said really needed a response.
Tomorrow will be one week since I interviewed and I'm starting to feel nervous. I feel like I should reach out and ask about the job, but every google search gets me conflicting answers. A lot of these search results are also from people who are going in for corporate jobs with a multi-interview process which doesn't apply to me. Some people say you should give them one or two weeks, but one of the employees at the shelter told me I should reach out in a few days to a week if I don't hear anything. I don't want to be pestering them or seem desperate. I just haven't been able to stop thinking about it and it's making me really anxious.
