Pregnant again after 2 Miscarriages. Question about aspirin
I’m feeling very anxious right now because of my previous miscarriages. The farthest I’ve reached in a pregnancy was 12 weeks and 3 days, but the heartbeat stopped. My OB at the time did not want to investigate further, saying that two miscarriages are still considered normal and that evaluation usually begins after three losses, when it is classified as recurrent miscarriage. That OB has since retired.
I am now back under the care of my family doctor, and I’ve been told I will only be referred to an OB at around 20 weeks. My family doctor also does not want to check my progesterone levels or run additional tests, and has advised me to just stay healthy and active.
I’ve seen some information online about taking low-dose (baby) aspirin, and I started taking it two days ago. However, my family doctor is not aware of this, so I’m hesitant about whether I should continue.
I am currently 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Is it safe to take low-dose aspirin before 12 weeks? I’ve seen that some people start at 12 weeks, while others begin even before conception, so I’m feeling quite confused.
Thank you.
