International Wire transfer : how to handle large amounts

Banking

I’m about to receive a largish 5 digit medium size international wire transfer ( gift from parent’s + inheritance) from parents for myself and wife. We have a joint account in one of the big 5 banks .

(Given tax laws in Canada , I don’t think there are any tax implications on this )

I wanted to get the forums advice if I should be breaking up the amounts into chunks ( less than $10k ) or pretty much get the full amount in one shot . ( there are some smaller transaction costs attached to each transfer)

I’m not sure if there are any implications or benefits of such a move (breaking into small chunks)

Ive already moved and recd a small amount to ensure it was routed to the right account as ive read a wrong transit or misspelled name could mess it up creating hassles.

Any guidance or advice would be much appreciated on how best to handle such transactions .
