Calling All Pet Owners: Azuna Air Fresheners

My partner and I live in a 1000sqft apartment with 20-25ft ceilings. Around the house, we have air purifiers and dehumidifiers and during the warmer months I keep windows open for fresh air.

The building we live in is new. So we do have a lingering smell of wood and whatnot and on top of that we have our two cats. Two cats, two litter boxes. We just recently switched from plastic litter boxes to stainless steel and they have worked wonders to keep the smell practically non-existent. But we still have that lingering wood/stale smell in the house. We’ve been trying to discontinue our use of scented wall plugins which up until this point we’ve used pretty religiously. Cats are fine. Clean bills of health.

As an alternative we purchased the Azuna Air fresheners (literally came in today) and the first thing I noticed when opening the package was the smell of tea tree oil. Absolutely my mistake in not checking before dropping money on this kit but it’s marketed to pet owners so I’d have to imagine there’s some truth to the safety of this product.

The diffusers are considered passive and don’t use vapors which can leave droplets on your pets fur and then be ingested or absorbed by skin which to my understanding, is the most toxic exposure to animals. So I would never put these in places where our cats could easily access the product. Still I’m a little concerned.

My questions to anyone here who has used this product around their pets, does it work and how are your pets holding up? I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews from pet owners specifically on other forums but I figured I’d conduct my own survey here to get more perspective.
