Accepting I'll Never Meet My Daughter

While she's about to be born any day now, I'll never get to see her... Her mother fled from me the moment she got pregnant 9 months ago. I know it was a hard time for her since her brother had just committed suicide at the time, so I thought I'd give her some time to process things...

But all my messages in recent months have been completely ignored. Not even her parents will acknowledge my existence. We even live states away which makes the possibility of co-parenting logistically difficult.

It isn't going to be healthy for my daughter to be bounced around constantly her entire upbringing. It's probably best that she stays with her mom and grandparents for the sake of consistency, even if that means growing up believing I'm an evil man...

As much as I want to make amends with her mom and be there as a father, I just have to accept that I'll never know her. I'll never get to see her, hold her, love her, guide her, protect her, none of it. I won't even know her name or birthday.

It's hard but I have to accept it and move on if I want any chance of raising a child with both their loving biological parents: the way it's supposed to be. I thought that was what Abby wanted too, but I was naive.

And now our daughter has to suffer even though she did nothing wrong...
