Westchester County pistol permit Recertification

This is not a question. Instead, this is a timeline for a recertification for my pistol permit for Westchester County. My old permit was set to expire on February 27th of this year, which is my birthday. I was one of the first people to apply for the pistol permit in New York after the new laws took effect. I dropped off my recertification packet on February 3rd. I just needed the forms notarized, and a copy of the receipt of the 18-hour class, with the instructor's name and the company I took it with. I just received it in the mail today, postdated for 3/26/2026. Just as the county clerk mentioned, the new permit expires on the anniversary of the new issue date, not my birthday, and three years from now. they told me as long as I don't let it expire before I put the renewal in I should be good..
