Got flagged for "Community Guidelines violation" on an RFP account from Upwork, is this common?
So I got an Outlier offer through Upwork. Clicked the link, registered, got assigned to the "Something Big" project ($18/hr coding). Was in onboarding, task showed up on dashboard, everything looked fine.
Then the task disappeared. Contacted support and got this:
> "After reviewing your account, we've identified activity that violates our Community Guidelines, such as the use of credentials that don't belong to you, creating multiple accounts, or inaccurate location/experience."
Here's the thing I didn't create the credentials. The email assigned to me was auto-generated: rfp_code_upwork_XXXX@outlier.ai. That's literally the format Upwork's referral pipeline creates.
To make it worse, I had a previous Outlier account that got deleted. So when I re-registered via the Upwork link, their system probably flagged it as a duplicate account — even though the original was already gone.
Have others run into this with RFP/Upwork accounts? Did anyone successfully appeal? Ticket is open but no response yet besides the auto-confirm.
