Game pass question

Firstly, apologies as I know this has been discussed but I’m still confused. As I’m about to buy a Rog Ally X, can somebody explain in simple terms (I’m in my 40’s and not the most tech savvy!) what the best options are for subscription gaming for me.

Initially I’m looking to play COD, FC26, Forza Horizon, Far Cry series.

As this is essentially a PC with windows and not a console (I don’t own an Xbox) is the Xbox game pass pointless? Would PC game pass be the way forward? I’ve looked at Steam options but the games I’m looking to play are still priced pretty high on there.

Any help is appreciated
