Might not be LitRPG but has anyone read Mimic & Me?

I'm looking for more books with progression fantasy, cool abilities, monster fights, and dungeon runs. Currently listening to Syl and got the books, and I saw Mimic & Me is also on sale on Audible.

As I am not really looking for human squabbles in my stories, is this one good? Some squabbles are fine, but when half a book or an entire book is dedicated to "this dude is a bad dude and we must stop him" or "I am so unbelievably over-the-top evil that I cross into cringe territory" bad guys, I stop.
