Did they change the game for sonar detection???

Probably 5 times between today and yesterday playing DD I show as "spotted" while in smoke or where I feel like I'm by myself and the eyeball "spotted" sign is popping up but not the radar/sonar symbol . I search all around, getting shot at and then last second it switches from the spotted symbol to the sonar symbol.

One game I'm sitting behind a thin mountain, it says spotted (not sonar) and I can't see anyone, my detection is 4.7 so doubt anyone is within that but I pop a speed boost and leave, turns out it was a radar on the other side of the mountain, the second I come from outside the mountain it switches from spotted to sonar back to spotted and I get smoked.

Is there a glitch with radar/sonar not showing up or has it always been like this and I'm just noticing? Feels like it started after the update
