Wrapping my head around 2+ years away

Holy moly... I have accepted an invite to serve starting in August 2026! I'm excited, curious, thrilled, terrified, and so much more. However, I need some encouragement that deciding to serve is a good thing - and that 2 years away from friends, family, etc. isn't the eternity that it feels like it is.
