Advice

It's my son's birthday soon, and he is obsessed with this game on his iPad. He keeps talking about wanting the Seeker mech.... When I Google it, it says it's 100$, and it isn't available in the shop ever. Does anyone here have advice on what mech is worth picking up for him, and how to go about buying a mech?
