Newbie here - How to take that big first step?

I had a vacation planned with my boyfriend but unfortunately we're breaking up and won't be going together. I'm still trying to find a replacement but if I don't I'm left with 2 options: canceling the trip (marginal loss of 90 dollars) or going solo. The destination is a popular, safe island in Europe and the hotel should be safe as well but I'm still weary. I'm 23 years old and I'm afraid other guests will notice I'm alone. How do you ladies deal with this fear? I guess maybe I'm paranoid but I'm not used to traveling totally solo. I've taken intercontinental flights alone but I never stayed somewhere all alone.
