Birth Certificates taking an insane amount of time
So we had an incident where all our birth certificates got destroyed. I'm not going into it, but it was fairly tragic with a number of other things. Myself, and my family are from all over the US. But my wife and one child are from Illinois. I requested a new birth certificate issued from IDPH per what the illinois.gov says. Additionally a copy of our marriage license from Cook. This seems to have gone nowhere after 60 days. I'd typically say this is a 'big city/state problem', but my other daughter and myself are from New Jersey and New York - both of which seemed to have processed this request in 10ish days. Illinois hasn't even cashed the check to the point that i ordered Illinois again through VitalChek (a cancer of a company, but generally works as a short cut), and they even say Illinois is between 30-45 days. We are at near 90 days at this point with nothing from Illinois. I guess I'm writing this as a plea to understand- has anyone done this recently through either means, and gotten any response --- ever?
