As I've [mentioned in a previous post](https://www.reddit.com/r/wguaccounting/comments/1rs2ib4/completed_d103_d104_d105_and_c217_backtoback/), I started the BS Accounting program this past December. I'm 41 years old. I'm married, working full time from home, and have a one-year old at home, as well. I have a masters degree in communications (2015), and two existing bachelors degrees in English and philosophy (2009). None of my graduate credits transferred in, and only 30ish of my undergrad credits transferred in, so I need 87 total credits to complete the accounting program.

I have a lot of general career experience on the comms/PR side, but no accounting experience, so there was definitely a learning curve. But I managed to finish the degree in four months, and didn't fail any of the tests (though I passed D215 and D101 by the narrowest margins possible).

My main motivation was and is to build some knowledge and related career insurance (a comms executive with accounting knowledge is better than a comms executive without accounting knowledge).

Next stop will be an online MBA program at a different school starting this fall, with a focus on accounting, to both earn the MBA and also collect my remaining academic accounting credits.

This summer, I'll be working on some related certifications, including QuickBooks, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), and potentially Enrolled Agent.

Done in one term, with eight weeks to spare!
