Have any of you had to do non-lawyer work in between jobs?

Career & Professional Development :Jerb:

I just got laid off from my first post-law school job, so I'm job hunting at the moment. I applied to some random roles as backup options, and I just got off the phone with one where I work my state's Department of Insurance to deal with audits and complaints or something. It's really low pay and not at all related to practicing law, but no one else is really getting back to me, so I'm wondering if I should just go ahead with this....

Has anyone had to do non-law jobs to make ends meet? I feel really....humbled right now....some could even say humiliated, so I'm wondering if this is a common or rare phenomenon.
