Baby getting chin rash from chewing on carrier straps — what do you use?

Looking for advice — my baby chews on his carrier straps constantly and the fabric is giving him a rash on his chin from the friction and drool.

I’ve looked around but can’t find anything that really solves it. The fabric drool pads I’ve seen are either carrier-specific or don’t seem to stay put well.

How are other parents handling this? Has anyone found something that actually works across different baby gear (carrier, stroller, car seat)?
