Limited tips?

It was recently brought to our attention by a rider that wanted to add a larger tip, but could not and then he should his screen which limited that amount he could tip by the same percentages that a restaurant typically has set but with no option for custom amount. 1-we are not servers at a restaurant, 2- atleast restaurants offer the custom tip option and 3- Why in the world would Lyft cap the tips? Not sure how long it has been like that, I am guessing probably a while, but we just recently learned this.

Yes, I am sure it has to do with less than honest people doing something they shouldn't do, but dang. As an elite 5 star driver with Zero problems and tons of compliments, why are our riders not allowed to show us the appreciation they would like to thru tips when they do not have cash? Ridiculous and needs to be changed.

Is there something we are missing?
