Application names vs Visual aid tree names

I'm finalizing the applications and I'm having a debate with myself, not sure if anyone else has addressed this yet.

My line of descent is through my paternal line, luckily no name changes due to marriage.

When I'm putting in each generations' wife in the CIT0001e application, I'm putting in their married name first, then their maiden name in the Other names field.

But when I'm putting together the visual aid tree, I'm using their maiden names.

Is that the right way to go about it?

Also, side-bar, I'm assuming missing information about the mothers, not being in the line of descent isn't a critical issue, place of birth, marriage date, etc
