My dad ruined my birthday because he was mad at someone else

My parents have been in a bad situation with their relationship especially as of late. I try to stay out of it and have done nothing bad to my dad in a long time. However, he decided that today was the day he would announce to everyone he’s divorcing my mom and then proceeded to cancel my birthday dinner and everything else that was planned.

The divorce puts me in a bad situation since they are going to want me to move out with almost no money saved for that.

I’m just frustrated because when he’s mad at one person, he has to take it out on everyone and proceed to act like everyone is out to get him. Like he seriously couldn’t wait until tomorrow to say something like this?

I am planning on going no-contact with him when I leave. When that happens he will have no friends or family around him left because he does stuff like this. I hope one day he realizes not everyone else is always the problem, but sometimes it’s himself.
