2 months post partum, he brings up the sex conversation.
Just screaming into the void here. I genuinely have a good man, but whoo boy can he pick his timing!
I am a FTM to a beautiful boy, he's 9 weeks old and just perfect in every way. I had a relatively easy pregnancy until it all fell apart towards the end with preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and a stubborn breech baby that ended in a scheduled cesarean that won't heal (I've been on two rounds of antibiotics already). So just to preface, my body has been through a lot recently! I also ebf so I have a baby attached to my boobs what feels like 24/7.
My partner gets home from work yesterday after a night away, he's away at least one night a week for his job. As he's helping me finish getting dinner sorted (he just has to mash the potatoes and serve up) he starts taking about the fact we haven't had an intimacy chat in a while and how sad that is. He wants us to have a check in conversation about how sex is going for both is us.
My dudes, oh my god is this boy serious?! I have just had my stomach cut to shreds to get a baby out, a baby I grew from scratch less than 9 months ago. I'm on antibiotics again because my wound won't heal. I'm lucky if I can brush my teeth, let alone shower daily. I gross, I'm tired, my body is healing from something huge and you want to talk about sex?????
I basically shut down and started crying, we've had these chats before and it usually ends with him saying he needs more frequency or spontaneity. I have absolutely 0 bandwidth for any of that. We have sex maybe 2-3 times a week, and boy was getting blow jobs 2 weeks pp. I feel like that's more than enough!
He saw I was upset and back peddled, saying he just wants to check in and understand what it's like for me. But honestly I think he's just saying that to make himself look better. He said forget he brought it up, which like done lol.
Suffice to say I'll not be having this conversation any time soon, I just wish he understood how hard this has been for me physically and mentally, and how absolutely low sex is in my radar!!
Ugh why are men??
