Every time a new expansion drops, I rush in, not to play, but to test the new UI options. This is my latest iteration of a UI I previously posted, and this time, it runs entirely without addons.

There isn't much to explain about the setup itself , the lack of addons is the point. What I'd rather talk about is what I think is still missing or could be improved.

**Cooldown Manager** I never relied heavily on WeakAuras. I'd say 75% of what I need is already covered by the action bars, so the new Cooldown Manager doesn't add much to my workflow. The core issue is that it only tells you a CD exists, it doesn't do anything smart with that information. It should be context-aware: warn you when a buff is missing, show a CD *only* when it's actually on cooldown, hide everything when it's not relevant. On top of that, not being able to anchor it to the centre of the screen is a dealbreaker if you want a consistent UI across multiple characters.

**Macros** The macro editor font is painfully small and hard to read, and the window itself feels crammed. It should be reworked to match the polish of the Cooldown Manager editing window. Also, 180 global macro slots makes no sense. Just split them into Global, Character, Class, and Spec.

**Aesthetics** I genuinely like WoW's native UI look, which is the main reason I wanted to go addonless. But there's room to improve. The chat box, damage meter, micro menu, everything feels a bit boxy. Softer edges, fewer hard borders, elements that fade when not in use or not hovered would go a long way.

**Experience Bar** It could look a bit more modern and have a lot more functionality. A toggle between XP and reputation tracking would be a quality of life improvement that's long overdue.

**Unit Frames** Starting to feel outdated. They're large, and a lot of players have already migrated to relying on the PRD display above their bars instead. My take: remove the player unit frame entirely and replace it with the PRD. Make a wider and thinner target uf, meant to be placed in the middle.

PS: I know there are addons that do all this. I had these suggestions because I tested these addons and liked the functionality and look. Still I prefer to keep my addons to a minimum.
