I’m a Filipina that just moved to Paraguay

As the title says, I’m a Filipina that just arrived here on Paraguay last week. I was born and raised on the Philippines until I was 9-10 years old, my family moved to the US and stuff… (haha I’m sorry I am divagando as you guys say it!)

Basically, me and my husband took the brave decision to come here! (We moved here to Asuncion). We know some Spanish because we learned it in school but I was hoping I could get some answers to the following questions I have here:

1- Are there any other Filipino communities in here?

2- What are nice places to go here in Asuncion? (I’m 34 years old so keep that in mind haha)

3- What are some good schools for my son? School’s that are used to having foreigners or that have more diversity in them would be preferred (I have been interested in the school “ASA” since I heard it has a lot of Asian families too)

4- Where can I make Paraguayan friends? (from my experiences so far, y’all are so fun)

5- Are Paraguayans racist towards Southeast Asians?

6- What are some good neighborhoods to live in? (We are staying in a building in Santisima Trinidad, but we need more space.)

7- Is learning Guarani important for communicating with people here? If so, how can I learn it?
