Anyone else upset about "fake deaths"?

SpoilerDiscussion

I don't know if I'm just getting unlucky in picking which comics I'm reading, but it seems like the authors have a thing for reviving characters or faking out their deaths, and it's really ticking me off.

When >!Damian!< died in Batman Inc. it was probably the most emotionally moved I've been, reading a comic book. The whole "stages of death" thing they did in the Batman & Robin run was incredible. Then they brought him back at the end of the run.

My friend was showing me Young Justice and they faked out both >!Artemis!< and >!Superboy!<.

I'm reading through DC Rebirth, specifically Rise of the Batmen, and >!Tim!< gets blown up! Oh, wait...no, he was just teleported away.

Is there some quota they have to meet? Do the writers get off on doing this?
