CC 2.89 Conversation History Resets

I recently updated to 2.89 and now CC seems to cut the conversation visually once in a while. It often all of a sudden looks like right after compaction (eventhough it didn't compact).

In turn, I cannot check what has been done anymore. This is a real issue because scanning the lines often helps me to detect severe shortcomings in implementation.
