Do you think the parents of members will keep meddling in group image?
I was thinking about this after a post on the prelude sub about Samaras mom potentially spoiling the final piece with her TikTok likes. It’s just weird how these sort of missteps have been recurring with idols parents in the past few years.
A few examples are the drama with Vernon from Seventeens mother, who was online shading BTS impact in comparison to Seventeen and spreading her MAGA beliefs. There was Samaras mom being defensive against online commenters during her controversy in Dream Academy which just made people more emboldened to hate on her. And a more glaring example was the whole NewJeans situation where Min Hee Jin roped in many of their relatives into her tampering and media manipulation plans.
This sort of behavior has affected Katseye too. I truly believe the focus of the situation would have primarily stayed on the company’s treatment of Manon but because Daniela’s dad opened his mouth, it brought a whole bunch of hate to the girls personal relationships. Now when Manon returns, there’s gonna be an uphill battle in terms of reshaping how some perceive their dynamics.
Idk if there are measures that labels themselves would have to take like in the forms of parent media classes lol or if it would be more of a personal coaching idols would have to give their parents, but I feel like this behavior really impacts group image and internal cohesion. Maybe im just dramatic but I feel like it just gives people who already wanted to hate on members amo.
